First of all I would like to thank you for sharing your knowledge and life-long experience in trading with people like me - fascinated by the markets but lacking the experience and appropriate approach.

The comments and examples of trades you show in your weekly Chart Scan Newsletter were very instructive for me. I particularly appreciate how you make complicated things simple. Your concept of reading the charts, "The Law of Charts", is really great.

But what I loved the most is your book "Trading is a Business". It is certainly the most important book about trading I have ever read. A must read for anyone thinking seriously about trading securities for money.

I literally owe every bit of trading success I have ever had to Joe's training and his methods, since they were so fundamental to my understanding of how to approach trading as an intelligent undertaking.  Thanks to his training, I have never been seduced by the "magic indicator" "100% winners systems" that still seem to populate the trading "systems" universe.  This alone has saved me thousands of dollars and much wasted time, not to mention being spared profound disappointment when those systems fail.  Thanks to Joe, I've never needed a system, since he taught me how to read the current state of the market and follow its movement by reading a simple price chart.  I am deeply grateful!

"I have been trading for six years now with limited success. Joe's techniques have really brought my trading into focus. I first discovered his methods two years ago.  I now have "Trading the Ross Hook", "Trading by the Book" and "Trading is a Business". I have been consistently profitable this year for the first time ever.

I trade the daily chart and have integrated several of Joe's techniques into my swing trading style. I trade a portfolio of stock market indices - European and US. Spread betting companies in the UK allow us to trade indices with very low margin requirements. Joe's trade and money management techniques in particular have helped me to become more consistent in my trading. I now use 3 positions for each trade - this has made a huge difference - being able to take some profits early on and cover costs etc.

Last quarter my % of winning trades was 80%, this quarter its currently at 73%.  It used to be 40% with the odd large loss meaning I could not make a profit with this ratio of winners to losers.

There is still plenty of room for improvement including exiting a bad trade sooner and I need to be more disciplined in choosing my trades. At the moment my trading is providing a useful second income - I look forward to the day when it can become my main income.

I'm sure you get newbies who you warn and they still go headlong into throwing away their hard-earned money as well as losing much more in the markets searching for that "Holy Grail". I'm not one of them and Joe, I'm sure you've heard this b4 but it is an incredible blessing to me in this day and age to have a person like you that I can personally email and receive a caring, "looking out for me" response. I thank you from the bottom of my heart...REALLY. All your efforts towards your students is incalculable financially speaking, but over and above that, your practicing of the Golden Rule in your life is admirable to say the least. You inspire me to pass things along as well and as my success in this business grows, I will in fact do that for those who so desire to learn and need support.

I would like to say first of all you guys are doing a great job.
I've been studying trading for a few years, but have never traded. The information in your forums are invaluable. Part of my education has been trying to figure out what I want to trade. I had always leaned towards trading futures, but was frightened by the risk factor. Now, I've decided that I will study trading futures spreads.

What was really disturbing to me was finding out about the unlevel playing field, esp. in FOREX and about all the stop running going on.
I had initially looked at trading FOREX, but now after everything I've read, I am taking your advice and staying away from FOREX. As a professional programmer (27 yrs) I'd already suspected that the brokers were not honest because if you are using THEIR software, they can code anything they like to make business profitable for themselves.

I read most of your books and  TRADING BY THE MINUTE  is the very best. I should say, although I am using technical analysis for the last 15 years, I was not successful making money.
